Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to a diverse, high-volume patient population
• Perform timely trauma and stroke assessments and interventions in a Level 2 trauma / comprehensive stroke center
• Monitor cardiac status and operate GE monitors to detect and respond to critical changes
• Administer medications and manage IV therapy using Baxter infusion pumps
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Cerner
• Triage patients, prioritize care, and support patient flow in a busy ED environment
• Coach, mentor, and give real-time feedback to teammates to promote excellence and safety
• Deliver outstanding patient experience using AIDET and ongoing communication throughout the visit

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted RN license (NC or compact preferred)
• Minimum 2 years’ RN experience; at least 1 year in an Emergency Room setting
• Experience in a Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (>100,000 visits) strongly preferred
• Required certifications before start: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
• ENPC required within 90 days of hire
• Ability to work rotating schedules and cover every-other-weekend
• Strong teamwork, communication, and real-time coaching skills
• Adherence to dress code: navy scrubs

• Emergency patient care and ED procedures

• Proficient documentation in Cerner
• Cardiac monitoring and interpretation
• Skill using Baxter infusion pumps and GE monitors
• Triage, patient flow, and high-volume ED operations
• Patient experience best practices (AIDET) and respectful communication
• Teamwork, coaching, and the ability to float within ED sections
