Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care to trauma, burn, and surgical ICU patients following unit protocols
• Perform advanced wound care and management of EVDs and other specialized devices
• Respond effectively to codes and participate in massive transfusion protocol (MTP) activations
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and execute individualized patient care plans
• Chart accurately and efficiently in Meditech while maintaining clear communication with families and staff
• Maintain safe patient ratios (typically 2:1 in ICU) and prioritize care in high-acuity settings

Qualifications

• Active RN license (required)
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience (trauma, burn, or surgical ICU experience required)
• Comfortable and experienced with trauma, burn, and surgical ICU patient care
• Strong communication and critical thinking skills — be ready to act decisively
• Meditech EMR experience preferred
• BSN and CCRN preferred but not required

Education

• BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with Meditech electronic medical record
• Familiarity with critical care equipment and burn/trauma-specific technologies
• Wound care, EVD management, and massive transfusion protocol (MTP) experience
• Ability to respond to and manage codes in high-acuity environments
• Teamwork, delegation, and clinical decision-making in a 2:1 ICU setting
• Flexibility to float to MSICU, CVICU, Neuro ICU or PCU as needed
