Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients in the acute care rehab setting and develop individualized, goal-driven care plans
• Provide skilled therapeutic treatment across orthopedic, neurologic, and cardiopulmonary diagnoses
• Document all patient care promptly and accurately using Cerner PowerChart
• Use patient lifting equipment and safe transfer techniques to ensure patient and staff safety
• Supervise and coordinate therapeutic care with PTAs, OTs, COTAs, speech therapists, and rehab techs
• Communicate evaluation results and progress to patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members

Qualifications

• Current North Carolina license to practice Physical Therapy (must have)
• Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of experience; at least 1 year acute care experience preferred
• Experience with orthopedics, neurology, and cardiopulmonary patients is helpful
• Comfortable using patient lifting equipment (SARA+, Stedy, Maximove), walkers, and gait belts
• Strong documentation skills in Cerner PowerChart and effective team communication

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient evaluation and individualized care planning
• Documentation in Cerner PowerChart
• Safe use of patient lifting equipment and transfer techniques
• Acute care procedures and rehab diagnosis/prognosis
• Experience treating orthopedic, neurologic, and cardiopulmonary conditions
• Ability to work in single patient room settings and manage 1:1 patient assignments
