Roles & Responsibilities

Perform high-quality mammography examinations following department protocols and radiologist direction
Provide compassionate patient education and care, verifying identity and obtaining informed consent
Maintain regulatory compliance with FDA guidelines and keep accurate accreditation records
Complete daily quality assurance and preventative maintenance scheduling to ensure equipment reliability
Document exams and charges accurately in the EHR and manage prior studies for Radiologist review
Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate service calls when needed to minimize downtime
Support workflow improvements, participate in performance improvement initiatives, and train or cross-train staff
Assist with clerical tasks, phone reception, and patient transport as required to keep the clinic running smoothly

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program required
ARRT registration in Radiology (R) and Mammography (M) required
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or must be obtained within 90 days of hire
Must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States
Successful background check and pre-employment drug screen required
Preferred: two years prior experience as a practicing Radiologic Technologist and cross-training in CT and MRI

Education

Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in mammography imaging procedures and breast imaging workflow
Strong patient education and patient-care communication skills
Knowledge of FDA accreditation requirements and quality assurance processes
Familiarity with EHR documentation, PACS, and RIS/HIS systems
Radiation safety practices and adherence to ALARA principles
Equipment operation and troubleshooting skills
Ability to assist and cross-train in CT, MRI, and DEXA when needed
