Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care throughout labor, delivery and immediate postpartum periods
• Continuously monitor maternal and fetal status using AWHONN fetal heart monitoring standards
• Perform neonatal resuscitation and stabilize newborns per NRP protocols when required
• Collaborate with OB providers, anesthesia, neonatology and the interprofessional team to optimize outcomes
• Educate and support patients and families before, during and after birth, ensuring clear communication and informed decision-making
• Document care accurately and timely in the patient record and complete required competency checklists

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state verification required)
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• AWHONN Fetal Heart Monitoring certification or equivalent
• Successful completion of Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklist as required
• Ability to pass fit test, 10-panel drug screen, color vision test and required immunizations
• License/Certificate Verification on file prior to start

Education

• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required; specific degree (ADN/BSN) not specified in the posting

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong fetal monitoring interpretation and strip analysis skills
• Neonatal resuscitation and immediate newborn care
• Labor support techniques, pain management and stage-specific interventions
• Assessment and triage of obstetric patients
• Patient and family education with excellent communication skills
• Proficient documentation and adherence to unit protocols and infection control practices
• Teamwork and the ability to collaborate under pressure
