Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect
• Take and accurately record vital signs and report relevant changes to the nursing team
• Support safe mobility and fall prevention through attentive assistance and proper transfers
• Provide compassionate mealtime assistance and support residents’ nutritional needs
• Document resident care and observations clearly and promptly in the patient record
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and families to deliver individualized, person-centered care
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents
• Participate in ongoing training and follow facility policies for infection control and resident safety

Qualifications

• Active GNA certification required
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or able to obtain
• Comfortable working with the geriatric population and demonstrating patience, empathy, and respect
• Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings/immunizations
• Good communication skills and ability to follow care plans and directions from the nursing team

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• GNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic resident care
• Ability to take and interpret basic vital signs
• Familiarity with infection control practices and safe patient handling
• Accurate documentation and charting skills
• Observation skills to notice and report changes in resident condition
• Teamwork, time management, and strong interpersonal skills
