Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding)
- Measure and record vital signs and report any changes in patient condition to the nursing team
- Assist with safe transfers and mobility to promote independence and prevent falls
- Support nursing staff in implementing individualized care plans and interventions
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and communicate clearly during shift handoffs
- Uphold infection control standards and contribute to a clean, safe environment for patients
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (North Carolina or state-appropriate credential) — required
- Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Ability to pass background check and required health screenings/immunizations
- Comfortable with patient lifting/assistance and standing for shifts
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
- Previous long-term care or acute care experience a plus; new grads with certification are encouraged to apply
Education
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in assisting with ADLs and basic patient care
- Knowledge of vital sign monitoring and documentation best practices
- Familiarity with infection control procedures and HIPAA privacy principles
- Basic charting/EHR entry skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable working within a multidisciplinary care team and following care plans
