Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately to prioritize care
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care in a fast-paced ER
- Administer medications, manage IVs, and perform urgent clinical interventions
- Collaborate with physicians, techs, and support staff to coordinate patient care
- Monitor patient status and communicate changes clearly to the team
- Document care accurately in the electronic health record and support continuity
- Provide compassionate patient and family education during stressful moments
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse license in California required
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- ACLS and PALS preferred or willing to obtain
- Previous Emergency Room or urgent care experience preferred (per diem-friendly)
- Strong clinical judgment, ability to prioritize, and teamwork skills
- Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
Knowledge & Skills
- Emergency triage and rapid patient assessment
- IV therapy, medication administration, and basic procedures
- Familiarity with common ER equipment and monitoring
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-acuity environments
- Clear, compassionate communication with patients and multidisciplinary teams
- Proficiency with electronic health record documentation
