Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor critically ill patients in the ICU, adjusting care plans as conditions change
- Administer medications, IVs, and advanced therapies safely and accurately
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care
- Perform timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses
- Respond promptly to emergencies and provide competent critical care nursing interventions
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and aftercare to support recovery
Qualifications
- Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- ICU experience preferred — demonstrated comfort with ventilators and advanced monitoring
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred
- Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and ability to work in high-acuity settings
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Per-diem flexibility and reliability to cover scheduled nights
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in ICU patient assessment and hemodynamic monitoring
- Knowledge of ventilator management and titration
- Skilled in IV medication administration and titration
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
- Strong prioritization and critical thinking under pressure
- Patient-centered approach with compassionate bedside manner
