Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and stabilize patients presenting with acute emergency conditions
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and emergency interventions accurately
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to develop rapid care plans
• Perform triage and prioritize care for multiple simultaneous patients
• Document patient status, treatments, and outcomes clearly and promptly in the EHR
• Provide compassionate education and support to patients and families during high-stress moments
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California (or compact license where applicable)
• Experience working in an Emergency Room (ER) setting preferred
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS and PALS highly desirable
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and emergency intervention skills
• Ability to work independently on per-diem assignments and integrate quickly with unit teams
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to meet facility onboarding requirements

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Completion of accredited nursing program and successful NCLEX-RN licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in emergency triage, rapid assessment, and stabilization
• Proficient with IV starts, medication administration, and basic procedures
• Comfortable using electronic health record (EHR) systems and documenting under pressure
• Excellent communication and teamwork in fast-paced environments
• Ability to prioritize multiple patients and manage high-acuity cases
