Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality telemetry nursing care to adult patients during overnight shifts
- Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry strips and respond to changes promptly
- Perform thorough patient assessments and document findings clearly in the chart
- Administer medications and IV therapies safely and according to orders
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to implement care plans
- Educate patients and families about condition, treatment, and discharge planning
- Escalate clinical changes immediately and participate in rapid response when needed
Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted RN license in California (required)
- Experience in telemetry nursing or working with cardiac monitoring
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS strongly preferred
- Comfortable with IV medication administration and common acute care skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently on night shifts
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency in cardiac rhythm recognition and telemetry monitoring
- Solid patient assessment and critical thinking skills
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) documentation
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage acuity during overnight hours
- Team player mentality with effective handoff and communication practices
