Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients arriving in the emergency department quickly and accurately
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments in accordance with protocols
• Provide critical patient care and monitor patient status throughout the shift
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and other clinical staff to coordinate care
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the EHR clearly
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up plans
• Respond to emergency situations calmly and lead or support resuscitation efforts as needed

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (California license preferred)
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Previous Emergency Room experience preferred (even one year of ER experience helps!)
• Comfort with 12-hour day shifts and the pace of a busy ED
• Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to prioritize in high-acuity situations
• Effective communication skills and a team-first attitude

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Nursing diploma required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency triage and rapid patient assessment
• IV starts, medication administration, and basic emergency procedures
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and clear clinical documentation
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining compassionate patient care
• Strong teamwork, communication, and critical thinking skills
