Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate direct patient care and assist with activities of daily living
  • Monitor and record vital signs, reporting any concerning changes promptly
  • Assist with safe transfers, mobility, and fall prevention measures
  • Support patient hygiene, feeding, and comfort needs with dignity
  • Communicate effectively with nurses and the care team to ensure continuity
  • Maintain accurate documentation and follow facility policies and infection control practices
  • Contribute to a positive, patient-centered environment that prioritizes safety

Qualifications

  • Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
  • Valid CNA certification for the state of California (or ability to obtain)
  • Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
  • Ability to work overnight/night shift hours and be available for per diem assignment
  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
  • Comfortable with physical duties including transfers and patient assistance

Education

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Completion of an approved CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

  • Basic patient care and ADL support
  • Vital signs measurement and documentation
  • Infection control and safe patient handling
  • Familiarity with electronic charting or bedside documentation
  • Clear communication with patients, families, and clinical staff
  • Time management and the ability to prioritize patient needs
