Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, hands-on care to patients, supporting dignity and comfort
  • Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and mobility
  • Monitor and record vital signs accurately, reporting any changes to the nursing team
  • Maintain clear, timely documentation in patient charts and electronic health records
  • Follow infection control and safety protocols to protect patients and staff
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members
  • Support patient transfers, positioning, and basic rehabilitative activities as directed

Qualifications

  • Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential
  • Active basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
  • Comfortable providing direct patient care with attention to safety and compassion
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team
  • Previous experience in a clinical or long-term care setting is a plus

Education

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Completion of an accredited CNA program and active certification

Knowledge & Skills

  • Proficient with patient ADLs and safe transfer techniques
  • Able to accurately take and document vital signs
  • Familiarity with infection prevention best practices
  • Basic charting and electronic health record (EHR) navigation
  • Good time management, observation, and reporting skills
  • Teamwork mindset and patient-centered communication
