Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, compassionate emergency nursing care to patients of all ages
• Assess, triage, and prioritize emergent conditions with confidence
• Stabilize patients, implement interventions, and collaborate with the ED team
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and emergency procedures per protocol
• Communicate clearly with physicians, families, and multidisciplinary staff
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the medical record
• Participate in handoffs and ensure continuity of care across shifts

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license valid in California (or compact RN where applicable)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) strongly preferred
• Emergency department clinical experience preferred
• Comfortable working overnight 12-hour shifts and in high-acuity settings
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills

Education

• Active RN license required; BSN preferred but AD/ASN considered

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and acute care assessment skills
• IV starts, medication administration, and emergency procedures
• Familiarity with ED workflows and rapid decision-making
• Experience with electronic medical records and documentation best practices
• Teamwork, patient advocacy, and crisis resource management
