Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality bedside care to critically ill patients in the ICU
• Monitor and assess patient condition continuously, responding quickly to changes
• Operate and troubleshoot critical care equipment including ventilators and infusion pumps
• Administer medications, titrate drips, and manage complex IV therapies safely
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and execute care plans
• Document patient care accurately in the medical record and communicate changes during handoffs
• Educate and support patients and families through difficult clinical situations with clarity and empathy

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in California
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) strongly preferred
• Prior ICU or critical care experience preferred (even a few months of critical care exposure helps)
• Comfort and competence with 12-hour overnight shifts and the ability to prioritize in high-acuity situations
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills
• Current CPR certification

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred when available

Knowledge & Skills

• Assessment and management of critically ill patients
• Ventilator management and weaning principles
• Hemodynamic monitoring and titration of vasoactive medications
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
• Infection control, isolation precautions, and patient safety best practices
• Effective interdisciplinary communication and time management in a fast-paced setting
