Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on patient care including assistance with activities of daily living
• Take and record vital signs accurately and promptly
• Assist licensed staff with patient transfers, positioning and mobility
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control procedures
• Document care and observations clearly in the patient record
• Communicate effectively with patients, families and the interdisciplinary team
• Observe and report changes in patient condition to the nurse in charge

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification in the state of California (required)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Ability to work overnight shifts and remain alert for a 12-hour period
• Comfortable assisting with patient mobility and direct care duties
• Clear background check and up-to-date health screenings (TB, immunizations) as required
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude

Education

• High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited CNA program and state certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven skills in patient hygiene, feeding, toileting and mobility assistance
• Accurate vital sign measurement and documentation
• Familiarity with infection prevention and safety protocols
• Basic charting and documentation skills (paper or electronic health records)
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced clinical setting
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
