Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care to diverse patient populations, including assessment, treatment, and monitoring
• Manage ventilators and advanced airway therapies with attention to safety and patient comfort
• Perform and interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and adjust therapy plans accordingly
• Respond quickly and competently to respiratory emergencies and code situations
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
• Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions, equipment use, and discharge planning
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to infection control and safety protocols

Qualifications

• Current respiratory therapist license appropriate for practice in Oregon (license verification required)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) required
• Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist as required
• Current fit test, 10-panel drug screen, color vision screening, and required immunizations/documentation (COVID-19, MMR, Hep B, Influenza, Varicella, PPD/IGRA, physical/health statement)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in ventilator management and non-invasive ventilation strategies
• Skilled in airway management, suctioning, and function checks of respiratory equipment
• Ability to perform and interpret ABGs and titrate oxygen and respiratory therapies
• Strong critical thinking and rapid decision-making in acute care settings
• Excellent patient communication, education, and family-centered care skills
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
• Committed to infection prevention, safety practices, and teamwork
