Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor cardiac telemetry and promptly identify rhythm changes
- Assess patients frequently and respond to changes in condition
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
- Document assessments, interventions and patient responses clearly in the chart
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to create and update care plans
- Educate patients and families on condition, medications and self-care
- Escalate urgent issues to providers and follow up on orders
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California required
- Experience working with telemetry patients preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
- Comfortable with per-diem scheduling and flexible shift coverage
- Strong assessment, prioritization and communication skills
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation
- Patient assessment and early recognition of deterioration
- Medication administration and IV therapy basics
- Electronic health record (EHR) documentation
- Clear communication with patients, families and care teams
