Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor telemetry and cardiac rhythms to promptly detect changes
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the med-surg/telemetry unit
• Administer medications and treatments safely according to orders
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the chart
• Educate patients and families on condition management and discharge instructions
• Escalate urgent concerns and participate in rapid response as needed

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in California or eligible to obtain one
• Telemetry experience required; prior med-surg telemetry unit experience preferred
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Current ACLS and other advanced certifications as required by facility (preferred)
• Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced setting

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry rhythm recognition and cardiac monitoring skills
• Proficient in medication administration and IV therapy
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and critical thinking abilities
• Ability to handle emergent situations calmly and effectively
