Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, high-quality critical care to pediatric patients in the PICU
- Perform focused assessments and implement nursing interventions without delay
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create and execute effective care plans
- Administer medications and manage advanced equipment safely and accurately
- Educate and support families with clear, compassionate communication
- Document patient care thoroughly and keep charts up to date in the EMR
- Participate in orientation and training to maintain practice standards
Qualifications
- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts (required)
- Experience or interest in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) settings
- BLS required; PALS strongly preferred or willing to obtain
- Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
- Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Pediatric critical care assessment and intervention
- Familiarity with ventilator management and advanced monitoring
- Medication administration and IV therapy skills
- Effective family-centered communication and education
- Team collaboration in fast-paced, high-acuity settings
- Comfort with electronic medical records and clinical documentation
