Shift Type: Variable/rotating shifts including days, evenings and nights. Day: 4x10 schedule, 06:30 AM - 5:00 PM (typical day shifts). Night: 3x12 schedule, 7:00 PM - 6:30 AM (typical night shifts). Call required Monday-Friday, 9:00 PM - 6:30 AM. Weekend coverage includes Saturday and Sunday blocks of 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM - 6:30 AM. Rotating shifts including weekends

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care during a wide variety of surgical procedures
• Circulate in the operating room with a focus on Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Spine, and General Surgery cases
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the perioperative team to ensure smooth, safe operations
• Maintain accurate and timely surgical documentation in EPIC
• Respond to trauma activations and support Level 1 trauma workflows when needed
• Float to other units within the OSU organization as required to support patient care
• Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to protect patients and staff
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience
• Experience in Level 1 trauma centers preferred
• EPIC experience required for surgical documentation
• BCLS certification required
• BLS and NIHSS certifications preferred
• Comfortable working variable and rotating shifts, including call and weekends
• Ability to circulate and support complex cases across multiple surgical specialties

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient care during surgical procedures and perioperative nursing
• Operating room circulation and sterile technique
• Surgical documentation in EPIC
• Trauma care and experience with Level 1 trauma workflows
• Familiarity with Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Spine, General Surgery and specialty cases such as ENT, Plastics, Burns, Urology, GYN and Transplant
• Experience with robotic and laparoscopic assisted procedures
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling a high daily surgical volume
