Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to adults on the medical-surgical unit
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications and IV therapies safely and in accordance with protocols
• Monitor patients’ conditions, recognize changes, and respond promptly
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
• Document clinical care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record
• Participate in unit quality improvement initiatives and maintain professional standards

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) credential — active license required
• Clinical experience or interest in Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) nursing
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a fast-paced hospital team

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of Med/Surg patient care principles and standard nursing practices
• Medication administration and safe IV therapy skills
• Patient assessment, pain management, and wound care knowledge
• Effective clinical documentation and charting practices
• Team collaboration, time management, and prioritization under pressure
