Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess pediatric and med/surg patients regularly and deliver high-quality, family-centered care
• Administer medications and treatments accurately while following established protocols
• Monitor patient status, recognize changes, and escalate concerns promptly to the care team
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Document patient care and outcomes thoroughly and timely in the electronic health record
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans with empathy
• Support a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment for children and adult med/surg patients

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (able to practice in Missouri)
• Clinical experience in medical-surgical nursing and/or pediatric nursing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required) — PALS or pediatric certification preferred
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented hospital environment
• Comfort with EHR documentation and adherence to regulatory standards
• Successful completion of orientation prior to independent assignment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong pediatric assessment and clinical decision-making skills
• Solid med/surg nursing knowledge including medication administration and IV care
• Excellent communication skills with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and remain organized under pressure
• Familiarity with infection control practices and hospital safety protocols
• Compassionate bedside manner and patient-family education skills
