Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to Med/Surg pediatric patients
Perform thorough assessments and create individualized care plans
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
Monitor patient progress and communicate changes promptly to the care team
Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge plans
Document care clearly and accurately in the electronic health record
Support a positive unit culture by mentoring colleagues and participating in quality improvement

Qualifications

Current, active RN license in Washington (or compact license where applicable)
Experience or clinical comfort working in medical-surgical and pediatric populations
BLS (Basic Life Support) required; PALS or pediatric certifications preferred
Current immunizations and ability to pass background and health screenings
Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced setting

Education

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN). BSN preferred where available.

Knowledge & Skills

Strong pediatric and adult medical-surgical nursing knowledge
Proficiency with medication administration and IV therapy
Solid patient assessment and triage skills
Comfortable using electronic health records and documenting clear nursing notes
Excellent teamwork, time management, and patient/family education skills
