Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 8.5-hour Med/Surg RN shift; specific start/end times and scheduled days to be confirmed

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Deliver compassionate, high-quality nursing care to Med/Surg patients
Perform thorough patient assessments, create care plans, and evaluate outcomes
Administer medications and treatments safely and document accurately
Monitor patient status and respond promptly to clinical changes
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team for coordinated care
Provide clear education and support to patients and families about diagnoses and discharge plans
Maintain accurate charting and perform timely handoffs during shift changes
Contribute to quality improvement efforts and uphold facility standards

Qualifications

Current, active Registered Nurse license in Louisiana
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Advanced certifications such as ACLS or Med/Surg certification are a plus
Prior Med/Surg nursing experience preferred
Comfortable working 8.5-hour shifts and managing a diverse patient caseload
Strong communication, clinical judgment, and teamwork skills

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Patient assessment and critical thinking for Med/Surg populations
Medication administration and IV therapy competence
Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
Patient and family education skills
Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced environment
Collaborative teamwork and clear clinical communication
