Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-quality direct patient care on Med/Surg units
Assess, monitor and document patient status and progress using clinical judgment
Administer medications and treatments safely and in accordance with protocols
Collaborate with multidisciplinary care team to develop and implement care plans
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and discharge plans
Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate when appropriate
Maintain accurate and timely documentation to support continuity of care
Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license for Louisiana
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
Experience in medical-surgical nursing is highly valued
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Ability to pass facility-required background and health screenings

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Solid understanding of medical-surgical nursing principles and best practices
Skilled in patient assessment, vital signs monitoring and documentation
Competent with medication administration and IV therapy
Familiarity with electronic health record charting and care coordination
Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced clinical environment
Patient education and family communication skills
