Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the Medical-Surgical unit
- Assess patients, monitor vital signs, and respond to changes in condition
- Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapy safely and accurately
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate excellent care
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress in the medical record
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility to obtain licensure in Hawaii
- Experience in Medical-Surgical nursing preferred
- BLS certification required; ACLS or other specialty certifications a plus
- Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and IV skills
- Ability to work 12.5-hour shifts and provide reliable, patient-focused care
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid understanding of Med/Surg patient care principles and protocols
- Skilled in patient assessment, documentation, and electronic medical records
- Proficient with medication administration and IV management
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and respond calmly in fast-paced settings
- Strong interpersonal skills for working closely with patients and the care team
