Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a Med/Surg unit
• Perform thorough assessments and reassessments to guide care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Monitor patient status and communicate changes promptly to the care team
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists and support staff to coordinate care
• Document patient care clearly and timely in the electronic health record
• Educate patients and families to support recovery and safe discharge
• Contribute to a culture of safety, quality improvement and teamwork

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse licensure in Hawaii or eligibility to obtain it
• Med/Surg experience preferred and demonstrated clinical competence
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced certifications welcomed
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking and prioritization skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Effective communication skills with patients, families and colleagues

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of Med/Surg nursing practices and protocols
• Medication administration and IV therapy competency
• Patient assessment, wound care and post-operative care skills
• Familiarity with electronic health record charting
• Time management, delegation and teamwork abilities
• Patient education and discharge planning know-how
