Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care for inpatient rehab patients on a 33-bed unit
• Perform assessments and monitoring including bladder scans to guide patient care
• Safely perform drain and suture removal and other routine procedures per unit guidelines
• Document care accurately in Meditech and communicate changes in patient status to the team
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to support patient recovery and discharge planning
• Apply strong critical thinking to prioritize care and maintain appropriate patient ratios (approximately 1:5-6)
• Support a positive unit culture by building relationships and working effectively with staff

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license (RN) — eligible to practice in Texas preferred
• Minimum 1 year of hospital experience in med/surg or inpatient rehabilitation (must have)
• Experience with bladder scans, drain and suture removal preferred
• Comfortable working 12-hour shifts and floating to med/surg if census requires
• Strong critical thinking skills and a team-oriented, positive attitude
• Familiarity with Meditech or similar EMR systems preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Inpatient nursing and med/surg experience
• Clinical skills: bladder scans, drain removal, suture removal
• Working knowledge of rehab equipment and unit nursing equipment
• Ability to work with patient ratios around 1:5-6
• Proficiency with Meditech EMR or similar documentation systems
• Strong communication, relationship building, and teamwork skills
