Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, high-quality critical care to adult ICU patients during overnight shifts
• Continuously assess and monitor patient conditions, recognizing and acting on changes
• Administer medications, manage IV therapies, and titrate treatments per orders
• Operate and troubleshoot ventilators and advanced hemodynamic monitoring equipment
• Collaborate closely with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate care plans
• Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic health record
• Provide clear education and emotional support to patients and families
• Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies, codes, and rapid changes in patient status

Qualifications

• Active California RN license required
• Current BLS required; ACLS strongly preferred
• Prior ICU or critical care experience preferred
• Comfort with ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring, and complex medication regimens
• Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and ability to work independently overnight
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care assessment and bedside monitoring
• Ventilator management and respiratory support
• Hemodynamic monitoring and vasoactive medication management
• IV/central line care and infusion pump competency
• Acute patient stabilization and emergency response
• Accurate, timely electronic documentation
• Effective interdisciplinary communication and collaboration
