Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered critical care to adult ICU patients
• Monitor and assess patients continuously, interpreting data and acting quickly
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to develop and implement care plans
• Document patient care, changes in condition, and interventions clearly and timely
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and recovery plans
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Louisiana or compact RN licensure (must be active)
• Experience working in an ICU or equivalent critical care setting
• BLS certification; ACLS strongly preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts and function effectively in a fast-paced environment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of critical care nursing principles and ICU equipment
• Familiarity with ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and infusion therapies
• Proficiency with electronic health records and accurate clinical documentation
• Skilled in prioritization, emergency response, and teamwork under pressure
• Compassionate patient and family communication with an emphasis on dignity and respect
