Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and stabilize patients presenting to the emergency department with speed and compassion
• Triage incoming patients to prioritize care based on clinical need
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately according to protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated care
• Document patient assessments, interventions and responses in the electronic health record with clarity
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and follow-up plans
• Respond calmly to emergencies and assist with resuscitation and trauma care when needed

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing (state licensure required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Prior Emergency Room clinical experience preferred
• Comfortable working 12-hour day shifts and adapting to variable per diem schedules
• Strong clinical assessment, IV insertion and medication administration skills
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to complete facility onboarding requirements

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency triage and rapid assessment skills
• Critical thinking and the ability to prioritize under pressure
• Medication administration and IV therapy competence
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) documentation
• Excellent communication and teamwork in fast-paced environments
• Basic wound care and splinting knowledge as it applies to ED care
