Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage emergency patients quickly and accurately
• Provide hands-on emergency care, including wound care, splinting, and stabilization
• Administer medications and intravenous therapies safely and per protocol
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team to develop and execute care plans
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses clearly and promptly
• Educate patients and families about diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up needs
• Respond to rapid changes in patient condition with calm, appropriate interventions
• Contribute to unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California required
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred for ER practice
• Emergency department or acute care experience preferred
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills in emergent situations
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen as required
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in fast-paced teams

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) - BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage principles and rapid patient assessment
• IV insertion, medication administration, and emergency procedures
• Familiarity with monitoring equipment and basic cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Ability to prioritize multiple patients and manage time effectively
• Comfortable using electronic health records and documenting care
• Team communication, debriefing, and handoff best practices
