Roles & Responsibilities

• Triage and assess emergency patients quickly and accurately to prioritize care
• Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring patient responses
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to develop action plans
• Provide clear, compassionate patient and family education during high-stress moments
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient status precisely and timely
• Stabilize critically ill or injured patients and help coordinate transfers as needed
• Maintain a calm, professional presence while managing multiple competing priorities

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — California licensure preferred or eligible
• Minimum ER clinical experience preferred (per-diem candidates welcome)
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred or as required by facility
• Excellent assessment and triage skills with strong critical thinking
• Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced emergency department environment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred
• Completion of state RN licensure and required certifications (BLS/ACLS)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency assessment and triage expertise
• Proficient with medication administration and IV therapy
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) documentation
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Comfortable with high-acuity patients and rapid decision-making
