Roles & Responsibilities

• Triage and assess patients promptly to prioritize care in a fast-paced ER
• Provide direct nursing care including medication administration and wound management
• Stabilize acute patients and collaborate with providers for rapid treatment plans
• Perform IV starts, monitor cardiac rhythms, and manage emergency interventions
• Document care accurately and communicate clearly during shift handoffs
• Educate patients and families about care plans, follow-up, and discharge instructions
• Work as part of an interdisciplinary team to improve outcomes and patient flow
• Maintain situational awareness and contribute to a safe, efficient emergency environment

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license (California) required
• Emergency Department nursing experience (previous ER exposure preferred)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Strong clinical assessment and prioritization skills
• Ability to work independently on per diem assignments and adapt to variable schedules

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency nursing assessment and triage skills
• IV therapy, medication administration, and basic emergency procedures
• Familiarity with EHR charting and accurate clinical documentation
• Effective communication with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Critical thinking and ability to perform under pressure
• Patient safety practices and infection control principles
