Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered emergency care in a fast-paced ED setting
• Rapidly assess, triage and prioritize patients based on acuity
• Administer medications, treatments and interventions safely and accurately
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Document patient assessments, interventions and outcomes clearly and timely in the EHR
• Respond to emergent situations and assist with procedures as needed
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and follow-up plans
• Maintain clinical competency and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license in Hawaii or eligibility to obtain licensure in HI
• Experience in Emergency Nursing or ER / ED experience preferred
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred or as required by facility
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills in emergency settings
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and communicate clearly with patients and team members
• Reliable, professional, and committed to patient safety and quality care

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN). BSN preferred.

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and emergency assessment skills
• IV therapy, medication administration and emergency interventions
• Familiarity with common ED procedures and equipment
• Proficient documentation skills and comfort with electronic health records
• Excellent teamwork, communication and bedside manner
• Ability to prioritize multiple patients and tasks in a high-acuity environment
