Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, empathetic nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department
• Rapidly assess and triage patients, prioritizing care based on acuity
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the ED team to develop and implement care plans
• Monitor patient status, document clinical findings, and escalate changes in condition
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up care
• Maintain a safe, efficient, and organized workspace during high-acuity situations
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and unit-based process improvements

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (active and in good standing)
• Experience in Emergency Department or acute care settings preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; advanced certifications (ACLS, PALS) preferred
• Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Strong clinical assessment and triage skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Completion of an accredited nursing program

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency nursing and acute patient care principles
• Triage and rapid assessment techniques
• IV therapy, medication administration, and emergency procedures
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) documentation
• Ability to prioritize and multitask in high-acuity scenarios
• Patient and family education best practices
• Infection control and safety protocols
• Collaborative teamwork and interdisciplinary communication
