Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to ED patients using evidence-based practice
• Rapidly assess, triage, and prioritize patient needs in a fast-paced emergency setting
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately following protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and multidisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses clearly in the medical record
• Support critical interventions during emergencies and assist with transfers to higher levels of care
• Educate patients and families on condition, treatment plan, and discharge instructions

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license (eligible to practice in Louisiana)
• Prior Emergency Department nursing experience preferred
• BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred or willing to obtain
• Strong critical thinking, triage, and acute care skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Effective communication skills with patients, families, and the care team

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and emergency patient assessment
• Acute care nursing interventions and trauma response
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
• IV therapy, medication administration, and monitoring skills
• Team collaboration, delegation, and time management in crisis situations
• Comfort with rapid decision-making and prioritized care delivery
