Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide specialized cardiac nursing care and high-quality triage for patients with acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions
• Perform detailed cardiovascular assessments and point-of-care testing to inform timely care decisions
• Manage and interrogate cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs) in-clinic and via remote monitoring, assessing battery status, lead integrity, and arrhythmia events
• Collaborate with cardiologists, nurse practitioners, and the multidisciplinary team to develop individualized care and rehabilitation plans
• Assist with pre- and post-procedure patient preparation, wound care assessment, and monitoring for complications
• Administer and manage cardiac medications, educating patients on adherence, side effects, and safety
• Deliver patient and family education on disease management, device function, activity restrictions, and lifestyle changes
• Ensure adherence to clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements in both in-person and remote workflows

Qualifications

• Active Vermont or Compact nursing license required; must be active at time of submission
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• 3+ years recent outpatient cardiology experience required
• Device management experience highly preferred (CIED interrogation and programming experience a plus)
• Acute care experience highly preferred
• Travel experience preferred
• Resume listing all departments worked (required)
• Cardiac skills checklist from within the last year (required)
• Two supervisory references from the last two years of employment (required)

• Triage and clinical decision-making for cardiac patients
• Comprehensive cardiovascular assessment
• CIED/device interrogation, evaluation, and basic programming collaboration
• Pre- and post-procedure nursing care and wound assessment
• Medication administration and management for cardiac therapies
• Patient and family education focused on self-care and lifestyle modification
• Remote monitoring workflows and documentation
• Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team and advocate for patient-centered care
