Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to telemetry patients during overnight shifts
  • Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond promptly to telemetry alerts and changes in patient status
  • Perform timely assessments, document findings, and communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team
  • Administer medications and treatments safely and according to policy
  • Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, and support staff to ensure smooth patient transitions
  • Educate patients and families about care plans, telemetry findings, and discharge instructions

Qualifications

  • Current, active RN license in the state of California (or compact license if applicable)
  • Telemetry experience preferred; comfortable interpreting cardiac rhythms
  • Current BLS required; ACLS preferred or willingness to obtain
  • Comfortable working independently overnight with strong clinical judgment
  • Excellent communication skills and a patient-centered approach

Education

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

  • Telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation
  • Strong assessment skills and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced night environment
  • Medication administration and IV therapy competency
  • Electronic medical record documentation proficiency
  • Team collaboration and effective handoff communication
