Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate direct patient care and assist with activities of daily living
  • Perform routine tasks like bathing, dressing, feeding, and toileting with dignity
  • Monitor and record vital signs, reporting changes promptly to the nursing team
  • Support safe patient transfers and mobility while following proper body mechanics
  • Maintain clean, safe patient environments and follow infection control practices
  • Communicate clearly with nurses, patients, and families to ensure coordinated care
  • Assist with documentation and charting to keep patient records accurate and up to date

Qualifications

  • Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in California
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
  • Comfortable working overnight 12-hour shifts and adaptable to per-diem scheduling
  • Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-focused attitude
  • Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is a plus

Education

  • Completion of an accredited CNA training program
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge of patient safety and infection control best practices
  • Ability to take and document accurate vital signs
  • Skilled in safe patient handling and mobility assistance
  • Familiarity with basic charting and electronic health record entry
  • Strong teamwork, time management, and bedside manner
