Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate daily care to patients, assisting with activities of daily living
• Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the nursing team
• Assist with safe patient transfers, ambulation, and mobility support
• Perform routine vital sign checks and document findings accurately
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients
• Follow infection control protocols and facility policies consistently
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to support care plans
• Offer emotional support and respectful communication to patients and families

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required)
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or obtained upon hire
• Demonstrated skills in patient care and safe lifting/transfer techniques
• Previous experience in long-term care, acute care, or similar setting is a plus
• Ability to work overnight shifts and adapt to per diem scheduling
• Strong communication skills and a patient-centered attitude

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred; active CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable assisting with ADLs and personal care
• Knowledge of basic clinical observations (vitals, intake/output)
• Familiarity with documentation best practices and charting
• Understanding of infection prevention and standard precautions
• Ability to follow care plans and escalate concerns appropriately
• Good teamwork, time management, and patient advocacy skills
