Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assess patients' pre-operative status and document findings clearly
Prepare patients and families with compassionate education about procedures
Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesiologists and OR staff to ensure smooth handoffs
Administer pre-operative medications and follow standing orders safely
Monitor and report changes in patient condition promptly
Maintain accurate pre-op documentation and support sterile/aseptic processes
Contribute to a patient-centered environment that prioritizes safety and dignity

Qualifications

Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or eligible for licensure
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS or other certifications a plus
Experience in pre-operative nursing or perioperative setting preferred
Strong clinical assessment, communication, and prioritization skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced surgical environment

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of pre-operative assessment and surgical workflow
Familiarity with medication administration and documentation standards
Skilled in patient education and comfort measures
Proficient with electronic health record (EHR) documentation
Ability to triage and escalate patient issues effectively
Team-oriented mindset with attention to detail and safety protocols
