Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care in the Cardiovascular and Electrophysiology labs, using specialized judgment and skills
• Prepare procedure rooms and patients for diagnostic and interventional cardiac, peripheral, structural heart, EP, and neuro-interventional procedures
• Circulate during procedures and assist physicians, maintaining sterility, safety, and efficient workflow
• Perform patient assessments and continuous monitoring pre-, intra-, and post-procedure, communicating abnormal findings immediately
• Accurately document pre/post care and procedural details in the electronic health record and MacLab/CardioLab systems in real time
• Administer procedural sedation per unit policy and support hemodynamic and emergent management as needed
• Participate in Time Out/Full Stop safety processes and ensure adherence to hospital standards for patient comfort and privacy
• Actively contribute to precepting and mentoring new staff while pursuing ongoing professional development

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required
• Required experience: ICU, CVICU, IMC, or Cath Lab experience (new grads and med/surg-only applicants will not be considered)
• Preferred: prior RN experience in a Cardiovascular and EP Lab
• Ability to independently circulate procedures and document in MacLab/CardioLab in real time

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
• Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma accepted if BSN obtained within 36 months of hire

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and continuous monitoring in invasive cardiology/EP settings
• Procedure room preparation and patient prepping for complex cardiac, structural, EP and neuro-interventional cases
• Fluoroscopy familiarity, intracardiac ultrasound operation, and 3D mapping system experience
• MacLab/CardioLab documentation and procedure logging
• Procedural sedation, circulating during procedures, and strong handoff communication
• Experience with TAVR, LAAO, pacemaker/ICD implants, EP ablations/studies, EVAR, carotid stenting, stroke thrombectomy, and aneurysm coiling is a plus
