Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality patient care using the nursing process: assess, plan, implement and evaluate
• Perform timely patient assessments and monitor for changes in condition
• Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department and Telemetry settings
• Communicate clinical changes, diagnostic results and care plans clearly to physicians and the care team
• Teach and guide patients and families about treatments, discharge plans and follow-up
• Coordinate and direct activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining professional standards
• Respond quickly and accurately to emergencies and changes in patient response to treatment
• Maintain patient privacy, confidentiality and compliance with EMTALA and mandatory reporting for abuse

Qualifications

• Current and valid State Registered Nurse (RN) license (required)
• BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications (required)
• EDAP 1 and EDAP 2 training (required)
• DCI / BVP (MAB) training (required)
• NIHSS or Stroke Certification (preferred)
• COVID-19 vaccination/boosters and other required immunizations and health screenings (per facility policy)
• Successful completion of Prime Basic Pharmacology, Core Competencies, Skills Checklist and Specialty Exam as required

Education

• Current and valid State Registered Nurse (RN) license

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency Department care and Telemetry experience
• Strong patient assessment and clinical judgment skills
• Skillful application of the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation)
• Direct patient care, medication administration and monitoring
• Patient and family teaching with clear, compassionate communication
• Familiarity with EMTALA regulations and mandatory reporting requirements
• Ability to work well in fast-paced, team-based emergency settings
