Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare sterile supplies and surgical instruments for each assigned procedure
• Maintain the sterile field throughout the case to ensure patient safety
• Provide the surgeon with required instruments and supplies in a timely manner
• Anticipate procedural needs and assist the perioperative team to keep cases running smoothly
• Adhere to infection control practices and facility protocols at all times
• Complete required competency checklists and participate in skills testing

Qualifications

• Active BLS certification required
• DCI/BVP certification required
• License or certificate verification as required by the facility
• Completion of Prime Core Competencies Exam, Prime Skills Checklist, and Prime Specialty Exam as indicated
• Current immunizations and health screenings (COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, TB test, Hepatitis B, influenza, Varicella, Tdap, drug screening, fit test) as required by the facility
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently in a fast-paced operating room environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Sterile technique and sterile field maintenance
• Surgical instrument preparation and handling
• Perioperative support and operating room procedures
• Infection control principles and safe handling of supplies
• Ability to follow checklists, testing protocols, and facility policies
