Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, patient-centered perioperative nursing care in the operating room
• Perform thorough preoperative assessments and prepare patients for surgery
• Maintain sterile technique and manage the sterile field throughout procedures
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia, and surgical techs to ensure smooth cases
• Monitor patients intraoperatively and respond promptly to changes in condition
• Apply ACLS, BLS, and PALS protocols when emergency intervention is required
• Document accurately and communicate handoffs to the postoperative care team
• Participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives in the OR

Qualifications

• Active RN license in California (Nursys verification required)
• Minimum 2+ years recent operating room/perioperative nursing experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Completion of required Prime exams and skills checklists as requested
• Ability to pass Prime drug screening, fit testing, and required health screenings or immunizations
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in fast-paced surgical settings

Knowledge & Skills

• Perioperative and surgical nursing principles and sterile technique
• Proficiency with intraoperative monitoring and basic rhythm interpretation
• Familiarity with Prime testing and competency checklists
• Comfortable with surgical instrumentation, supplies, and OR workflows
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and remain calm under pressure
