Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms by selecting and arranging sterile instruments and supplies
• Assist surgical team during procedures by passing instruments and anticipating needs
• Maintain strict sterile technique and ensure adherence to infection control standards
• Perform counts of sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures
• Assist with room turnover to support efficient case flow and patient safety
• Participate in orientation and training to maintain high standards of pediatric care

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program or equivalent training
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred or relevant state credential
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or obtained upon hire
• Experience in operating room procedures preferred, pediatric experience a plus
• Strong attention to detail, teamwork skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to pass facility background checks and required health screenings

Education

• Graduate of accredited Surgical Technologist program
• High school diploma or GED required

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in sterile technique and surgical instrumentation
• Knowledge of OR protocols, safety procedures, and infection control
• Comfort working with pediatric patients and multi-disciplinary surgical teams
• Good communication skills and ability to anticipate surgeon needs
• Familiarity with surgical counts, equipment setup, and room turnover procedures
