Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 11:00 AM - 7:30 PM or Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (Day shifts); On-call one weeknight per week and one weekend on-call every 4-6 weeks (callback within 20 minutes)

Roles & Responsibilities

• Scrub and assist in a wide range of surgical cases—orthopedics (total joints/trauma), general, neuro, vascular, ENT, OB/GYN (including C-sections), and plastics
• Maintain strict aseptic technique and sterile fields to protect patients and the team
• Prepare, check, and document surgical instruments and electrosurgical equipment before, during, and after procedures
• Care for scopes and fiber optic equipment, and support proper sterilization and sterile processing workflows
• Respond promptly to on-call requests (must meet 20-minute callback requirement) and provide reliable coverage when scheduled
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, charting in Epic as needed, and support rapid response and emergent situations
• Support robotics cases (DaVinci, Mako) when available and assist with specialized instrumentation

Qualifications

• WA State License required (no exceptions)
• Minimum of 1 year of OR scrub experience; travel experience required (no first-time travelers)
• Proficient in scrubbing orthopedics (total joints/trauma), general surgery, neuro, vascular, ENT, OB/GYN (including C-sections), and plastics
• NBSTSA preferred; CST and BLS strongly preferred or required depending on facility policy
• Ability to respond to callback within 20 minutes and participate in scheduled on-call rotation
• Comfort using Epic (preferred) and working in a short-term acute care / Level III Trauma Center environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Aseptic technique and universal protocol (time out) expertise
• Sterilization, disinfection, and sterile processing knowledge
• Specimen handling and labeling accuracy
• Experience with electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, and scope care
• Case cart setup and instrumentation organization
• Equipment documentation and inventory management
• Trauma experience (Level I/II preferred) and familiarity with emergent case workflows
• Robotic system familiarity (DaVinci Xi, Mako) and willingness to support robotic cases
